Madero Tango I visited a second time. And I found a place different from others. It has a beautiful view of Buenos Aires and a tango show modern and impressive.

I think most people that dislike the show come into thinking it is going to be some underground classical tango show. Madero Tango offers a modern twist on tango. This includes the electronic tango and other modern beats It is a snazzy vegas-style production.

Seating is generally not private, rather you sit at long tables with couples sitting across from eachother. If you pay a lot for better seats you can have individual tables with front row seats.

Another thing to note about Madero Tango is that the clients tend to be 50% foreign and 50% local argentines. I think this speaks highly of the place that locals are interested in attending. Most of the principal dancers and singers are very famous here in Argentina so that is a big draw for locals. On the other hand if you are looking for something purely turistic and classic you may want to go somewhere else or just check out a cheap milonga.

The show was good. It was the only tango show we saw during our trip so I can't really compare.

The service was awful. The host sold us a VIP table. We wanted a table a lil less expensive. She showed us there "executive table" in a spot way in the back of the room with a column blocking the stage. So we suckered up and got the VIP table. She showed us those terrible seats and the place ended up being empty that night.

The bartender asked what we would like to drink. My husband ordered a mojito. The bartender told us it was $5 USD. We received the check for the drink, $20 USD! We've never spent that much on a drink!

The food was terrible. Dry, hard steak. And people kept trying to sell us things. Before the show was over the photographer was at our table.

The show was good. The singers were great. My favorite was the bearded guy who did the gaucho dancing. But the service and food was horrible. I felt ripped off and treated horribly. I would not recommend this place to any of my friends.
